I've just noticed on the home page that a link has been put to Joseph's website and it states that it will be a FREE download - is that correct?

Yes. That's what I've heard about.

Redemption City should have been the second disc of The Ballad of Boogie Christ which was meant to be a double-disc. I guess plans have changed.

It's as if he's trying to one-up Radiohead. ;) Who, yes, only did the pay-what-you-want-download a year after Let's Just Be.

Joe mentioned last May that he had Boogie Christ finished but changed his mind and wanted to include the spoken word stuff. And back in October, Rainer mentioned the Redemption City title but didn't elaborate on it.

I had this idea that Redemption City could very well be a Joseph-themed amusement park. Fun and disturbing. If we can have a gallery, we should be able to get a theme park.

Aaaah, in all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. :D

So, out of the 24 song track-list, anyone care to take a stab at what will be included? I'm fairly certain All the Old Heroes will be on here.

Hold on, I'm getting this confused with The Ballad of Boogie Christ. LA, is this 2 cd set of Redemption City possibly The Ballad of Boogie Christ? Perhaps one disc is of spoken word material while the other disc is music? If I remember correctly, this is the album with strings. The one Jo was working on when The Graduation Ceremony was written.

I don't know if anyone can answer these questions, but things should be a little clearer in 11 hours and 5 minutes :P

Right now, you can preorder the vinyl edition, and there's a long note about the record on the page. No download yet, even after you preordered the vinyl, so I guess that'll take a few more until it's set up.

While he's been working on this since 2009 and it is indeed a combination with the spoken word record, he doesn't mention whether it's at one point been named Boogie Christ or not. He does mention that he played all the instruments himself, though.

Just started listening to Travel As Equals on soundcloud, and I'd definitely say that the magic is there. Although the new chorus is very stadion rock like...;)

Downloaded and donated.
Half way through the first album and liking it a lot. 'I miss the zoo' is a favourite after hearing it live last year, love the studio version too.
I won't be listening to much else over the next few days, too many streets to explore!! :D

These songs are sounding beyond amazing! They'll sound even better when the words sink in.

Being that Jo said he did all of the music on these songs, I'm assuming that this is not The Ballad of Boogie Christ. I remember reading that other musicians added strings on that album and that Jim Keltner played drums on it. It sounds like he was going to release that album on 1 disc and release the first disc of Redemption City and call that The Ballad of Boogie Christ. It looks like we got Redemption City on its own (with the non-album cuts!)

Thanks for the new tunes, Jo!
