My first question is : what record is it?

Is it the 'Boogie Rises" renamed, the record produced with Tchad Blake, or a other project?

Can't wait for the announcement, with release date, tracklist & cover.

The most recent interview said there's three records ready, apparently plus the RNDM record on top of that. I doubt that it's Boogie Rises since that was supposed to be a rap record (kind of); I'd guess that one would be closer to Redemption City. This song rather makes me think of Nuclear Daydream, and maybe the entire record is another faster recording. Wasn't the Tchad Blake thing done in a few days or something like that? And there's also been talk of a more acoustic record, but I don't know if those two were the same thing.

Nice to see Y again.

Well it's not BCIII/Boogie Rises nor The Family (prod. by Tchad Blake) nor RNDM2 nor The Actor nor anything from Joseph's vast back catalogue - all brand new tracks, talk about prolific!! Sounds great!!!!

I believe Gavin Lurssen had a hand in the production and/or mastering, but await confirmation from further details to come...

A new sampler video for the album (by Ehud Lazin) has just been put on YouTube

Days of Surrender :: Album Sampler Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-Lb6qdxbYk

The track listing is also included

Days of Surrender

Coming Soon....

Pledge of Allegiance
Maybe You / Come What May
Mystic Sister
Break
Come Back When You’re Poor
Isolate
Hold a Hand
I Don’t Know the Way
Innocent Man
Come Inside
Take You There
If I Could I’d Get Out

8)

PS. Joseph has been experimenting with camera double exposures and is putting some up on instagram/twitter/FB as possible contenders for the album cover art - which is your favourite?

Any release dates on this on or the RNDM yet? I'm ready to start road tripping to some shows!

Yeah, it's hard to keep up with all Joe's projects!! 'The Family' was mentioned in a couple of radio session interviews Joseph gave in mid-October 2014 (MPR The Current 2014-10-12 and KDHX Collector's Edition 2014-10-13, for those interested). It's supposedly all on piano (maybe) and was described as a concept record about a family across generations, that has some elements of WWII in it. This is the album that was mixed by Tchad Blake, or at least the one I have heard about! I had a theory that the track "Wake Up (namaste third eye)" that was put up on SoundCloud mid-February might have come out of 'The Family' recording sessions.

Still waiting on a release date for 'Days Of Surrender'. However our very own Greg put together a collage of the 4 JA DOS photo options and Joseph said he liked the idea and this might now get used as the album cover - how cool! 8) https://twitter.com/LonelyAstro/status/ ... 0665637889 and https://twitter.com/josepharthur/status ... 9676544000

So, while we wait impatiently, enjoy the 2 preview videos and spread the word :D

Hm, seems like the album won't be made available on CD at all, with the exception of the 'only CD in existence' in the package with the van... Shame, as I still prefer the CD format over any other, and I don't want a van.

The packages look great and I can appreciate this as an art project, but it's all very costly, especially considering I'd have to order it to my home in the Netherlands and would likely be faced with additional import costs. Therefore, I hope that the memory sticks will become available without art prints to go along with them.

Yeah, likely - it's just that when I'm confronted with 'New Joseph Arthur album' news, I'm tingling all over with a very strong desire to get it!

But what I'm also trying to say is that, if a CD release really won't happen (as the Van-package indicates), the memory stick is a very lovely alternative, and I'm hoping those will be easier to get; something more than a download option.

as says Peter Wark, it will be an ongoing campaign....new announcements in the coming days and weeks.

He confirm a vinyl release too.

I can't wait :D

I would like to order one those preview USB credit cards with art prints.
However one thing that comes to my mind is the risk of paying a lot of import taxes and VAT.
I have bad experiences lately with packages from outside the EU.
It would be nice to have one with high res audio files on it, but am I willing to take the risk of paying an extra 25% for duties and tax.
I'll give it another night of sleep.
